If you are looking for fantastic driving dynamics along with classy interiors, then have a look at BMW 1 Series hatchback. But those looking for wheelchair accessible cars Derbyshire may be a little disappointed by its poor rear packaging and controversial styling.

Exterior and Interiors

It would be safer to say that BMW 1 Series hatchback isn’t quite based on rules of proportion. You need to look at the model from your own perspective and angle to make up your mind about the looks. If you are still in doubt about the exteriors, don’t expect the same confusions about the interiors. You simply can’t deny the top quality within. The soft-molded plastics are perfectly matched to the grain of the natural leather seats to maintain a visual consistency. With a lower window line, you get more light and visibility in the car. With a low set driving position along with the three-spoked wheel, you feel very sporty while driving BMW 1 Series hatchback.

Performance

BMW 1-series really sets the benchmark for performance and emissions. Bringing mechanical refinement in this sector, 116i petrol runs very smoothly. And coupled with the new eight-speed gearbox, the shifts are near seamless and let the car accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 7.2secs while still giving 62.8mpg.

Running costs

BMW 1-series may be luxurious and pricey, but the awesome range of engines do a commendable job of keeping the running costs low. An ultra-green 116d ED is expected to arrive soon offering an average fuel consumption of 74 mpg and claimed CO2 emissions of 99g/km.

Dependability
Although BMW 1 Series hatchback is a new model, looking at the performance of the previous models of BMW 1-series, there is little to doubt about the dependability of the model. The 1 Series has scored a full 5 star rating in the Euro NCAP crash tests. All the models come equipped with six airbags and stability control.

Pros

Excellent interiors

Superb range of diesel and petrol engines

Competitive Boot space

Cons

different opinions on looks

Rear wheel drive eats into rear cabin space

Expensive amongst rivals

The BMW 1-series hatchback offers a fine range of engines, beautiful classy interiors and still remains the first choice for the small family hatchback sector. However it is not a good choice for those looking for wheelchair accessible cars Derbyshire. But if you are willing to pay for luxury, then go for the BMW 1-series.

The new Zetec S comes at the same price as Titanium-spec cars, although its focus seems to be on bringing more sportiness than luxury. Those with a yen for ultimate performance would be wise to choose the 1.6 EcoBoost petrol car, with a bhp rating of 177. That does not mean, however, that this 2.0-litre TDCi with a bhp rating of 161, which is the most powerful diesel engine on offer, is in any way a poor substitute. It is only seven tenths slower from 0-62 miles per hour, with a time of just 8.6 seconds, and it trumps the petrol car in terms of economy with a rating of 56.5 miles per gallon, an increase of 9.4 miles per gallon.

The diesel Zetec S feels quick rather than outrageously fast when actually on the road, with the low rev torque offered by the engine providing effortless progress. Unlike with many turbo diesels, there is plenty of incentive to rev it, given that the TDCi provides a wide power-band and continues to stay refined even when at high revs. The gearshift is also precise and quick.

The big difference with the Zetec S is in its handling and ride. The vehicle has been fitted with what the company has called a Sports Pack suspension, and so the damper rates and springs have been stiffened by as much as 25 per cent in order to sharpen up the car when it is on the road. Also featured are larger 17-inch alloys.

The result of all this is a much more alert feel to the steering and considerably improved resistance to body rolls. Even more impressively, this increased precision has been reached without having to compromise on ride comfort, which the firm claims is because they have left the ride height as standard.

A beefy body kit manages to make the Zetec S still seem as though it sits lower on the road, though and the new vehicle is set apart from the regular Focus by body coloured skirts, a roof mounted spoiler, standard fit fog lamps and lower bumpers on the front and the rear.

When it comes to the interior of the vehicle, the changes include the likes of Ford’s “Power” engine start button, a raised centre console situated between the driver and passenger seats and alloy covers on the pedals.

The seats themselves have been more heavily contoured in order to hold someone tightly, while the sporting feel is also only added to by the leather on the steering wheel. Aside from that, it is all standard stuff for a Focus, which means that the dashboard is backlit in blue and generally well constructed, if a tad busy.

The space offered is as good as always, though anyone wanting the extra carrying capacity of an estate vehicle will have to wait until the Zetec S wagon is released in February next year.

With strong economy, suspension changes that give finer control and extra kit, the Zetec S is an undeniably attractive proposition. Especially when you consider that you can now pick up a used ford in Leeds for an even more competative price!

Well, its official. The Honda Accord has been voted the most reliable used car of the decade by Warranty Direct.

Those of you looking to by a new car would do well to check out the results of the survey from the warranty firm. The list compiles their top 100 most reliable used cars of the decade, and certainly provides some food for thought. You might be surprised, for example, to learn that the entire top 10 were Japanese manufacturers. In fact, the German automotive industry, who many think would dominate the listings, have only managed to appear as high as 25th on the list!

With the current financial climate, buying a new car isn’t high on the list of most peoples priorities. But the publicising of this list means that buyers can confidently begin to look to the used car market.

Mark Davis Autos have a huge range of used cars in Storrington and across West Sussex, and their friendly team ensure that only the very best motors pass the test. We highly recommend you pay them a visit!

It is not really till you get into an electric powered truck and float off down the line that you simply delight in exactly how sleek, tranquil as well as productive they may be.

You will discover uncertainties regarding the way forward for electrical power, primarily because of cost as well as selection restrictions, however no matter the practicalities, everybody will cherish the actual traveling experience. Flip the key in the Kangoo ZE and the only thing that occurs would be that a couple of lamps begin blinking around the dash panel. Place the gear handle into drive, pat the feet over the accelerator and then your truck spikes forwards, completely noiselessly and also at an unexpected rate. For being an electrical engine, optimum torque is obtainable from 0 miles per hour, therefore it originally feels as though this vehicle is soaring, regardless of in writing, truth be told there is merely the equal of 60bhp on offer.

With a lot of usage destined to be stop-start in cities and towns, the better related 0-31miles per hour time frame arrives in a very quick 5 secs, however the 0-62miles per hour time is really a more lethargic 20 secs.

We all experimented with the two regular as well as Maxi variations and each amazed. It’s not only the level of smoothness of the truck yet, since the power packs are thrown beneath the flooring using their 280kg weight lower down, streets management isn’t affected.

The Kangoo includes an Eco switch that limits torque as well as quickness to improve distance by as much as 10% (optimum distance is actually 106 miles). Around town there is zero apparent decrease in effectiveness.

Nonetheless, around the open street the Renault Kangoo was feeling slow so I finished up pushing my foot on the flooring.

Electric powered vehicles need to be operated distinctly from diesels to acquire optimum performance and that is when the Econometer, that will inform you just how much power has been utilized, comes into play. By maintaining track of whether or not this has been hovering in the direction of darkish blue (perfect) or reddish (higher use), I quickly found it easier to start my economical driving.

With the vehicles costs beginning at £16,900, the battery pack rent gives £85 per month, it is not a cheap option, although it is certainly an enjoyable one.

A few refer to it as the “trailies,” while others use the word “off-the-road sport,”…however Suzuki goes ahead and calls it the “Sport Enduro Tourer.” For all of you who’re scratching their head wondering what the word “Strom” means, well, it’s the German term meaning “stream of wind”!!! How do you like THAT!?

Overall verdict

Don’t judge it by its slightly mysterious styling; the Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom’s a great bike! The V-twin motor is the heart of this bike and the chassis is a top-quality road-trailie. The motorbike is excellent value for money, brisk and super comfortable too.

The Engine
This baby was detuned for larger low-down grunts and will easily drive you past caravans and hard corners on a long distance jaunt.

Handling & Ride
High and wide bars, the low pegs get you to adopt that sitting up- beg posture which makes sure you’re more comfortable on a long ride. The plush suspension soaks up all bumps and it ruts of the British roads as it eases your ride.

Equipment
The dash on Suzuki DL1000 V-Strom is well prepared with a fuel gauge (digital), rev counter, clock, etc. The mirrors on this baby work wonderfully, offering the rider a big, super clear view of scenes behind.

Reliability & Quality
Not as luxurious as the KTM Adventure or BMW GS, but it is reliable and robust!

Value
This beast comes with tons of extras! There are the heated grips; centre stands and luggage stand that are available to make this bike a true ride-anywhere motorbike and that too at a reasonable price!

On the inside, Honda Civic has a 2-tier instrument display which puts its digital speedometer on top of the analog tachometer. The plastic quality has been slightly improved, and there’s an interesting graining like rice-paper on the panels of the door. Forward visibility has been aided by the thinner A-pillars, while the new seats offer better comfort & support—thankfully they’ve got less-invasive lumbar support now. A new 5-inch display’s a standard feature on all the new models, apart from the basic DX level. The display has been called as an “intelligent Multi-Information Display,” where the screen’s situated on the right side of the speedometer; it offers trip computer, clock, audio, as well as navigation information.

Even though the sedan has a 105.1-inch of wheelbase, it is 1.2 inches shorter, and the rear legroom has increased by a good 1.6 inches. The overall width, length & height remains unchanged, however the Civic now feels more spacious & wider on the inside. Furthermore, Honda claims that the shoulder room’s increased by virtually 3 inches.

The Civic coupe has a much shorter wheelbase- 103.2-inch, its 1.1 inches shorter compared to outgoing models. The Interior space has fallen slightly from an 83.7 cubic ft to 83.2 cubic ft, rather 82.6 cubic ft with the sunroof. When you’re seated in the front of this beauty, you’ll notice that the civic coupe and civic sedan feel equally spacious, so we’re guessing that the cubic feet reduction has happened at the back seat!

Coupe Dimensions:

Width: 69.0 inches
